About This Opportunity This position involves providing occupational therapy services to school-age students in a virtual format, typically encompassing 35-37.5 hours weekly. You'll address a comprehensive range of needs including fine motor coordination, visual motor integration, sensory processing challenges, activities of daily living, and functional participation in educational activities. Our therapists serve students from kindergarten through high school, adapting intervention strategies to meet individual developmental levels and educational requirements.
Role Characteristics Working as a remote occupational therapist offers unique opportunities to innovate service delivery while maintaining evidence-based practice standards. You'll utilize telehealth technology to conduct evaluations, deliver therapeutic interventions, and consult with educational teams. The virtual environment requires creativity in adapting traditional OT activities while ensuring students receive comprehensive support for achieving their functional goals.
Core Responsibilities - Complete thorough occupational therapy evaluations using standardized assessments and clinical observation
- Design individualized intervention plans targeting functional skills essential for educational success
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions that address fine motor, gross motor, sensory, and self-care objectives
- Utilize digital tools and interactive activities to facilitate skill development in virtual settings
- Track student progress through systematic data collection and analysis
- Contribute occupational therapy expertise to multidisciplinary IEP team discussions
- Provide consultative support to teachers and families regarding classroom accommodations
- Ensure timely completion of all documentation including evaluation reports, progress notes, and IEP paperwork
- Recommend assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support student independence
Qualifications We're Seeking - Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited institution
- Valid Nevada Occupational Therapy license
- NBCOT certification (Occupational Therapist Registered)
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience in educational settings
- Experience with teletherapy or strong aptitude for virtual service delivery
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with students remotely
- Technological proficiency including videoconferencing platforms and electronic health records
- Dedicated home office space with high-speed internet connectivity
